Things to do
Lake Tekapo now offers a diverse range of leisure and fitness activities (hot pools, ice rink, skiing, fishing, mountain biking, walking, astronomy, summer water activities etc) as well as a great choice of restaurants, shops and bars to relax in during the evenings.
We are finding that more and more people we host, are wishing they had stayed for an extra night as they have been unable to enjoy all that is on offer. In a usual overnight stay, most arrive late afternoon and leave late the next morning so don’t get to really experience Lake Tekapo.
Mt Cook National Park is also easily accessible as a day trip from Lake Tekapo being just over one hours drive away. This is a must do for those who love the mountains and the outdoors. The Park offers many hiking options, peaceful tranquillity, spectacular mountain scenery and the Sir Edmond Hillary Alpine Centre and Museum. Many of our guests have chosen to make this day-trip from their base here at Marie Therese.
Marie and Peter have grown this B&B business over the past 3 years and have enjoyed hosting so many friendly guests from all over the world. We have both travelled extensively ourselves and have a good appreciation of what is required as a host, what travellers may expect to experience, help and advice they may require and the little things that will make your stay with us a most memorable experience.
We look forward to the opportunity to host you.

Braemar GolfCross® course, stretched out over undulating high-country tussock land, is notable for two things — the pristine nature of the layout (not a cubic inch of soil has been moved to create these dramatic goals). Braemar Station’s 63,000 acres on the eastern shores of Lake Pukaki have been farmed by Duncan and Caroline Mackenzie since 1969. Both keen golfers, their golf course began with just three holes set out round their homestead ( 0 Votes ) |
